Client & Policy Servicing Specialist

Middleton, WI

CapSpecialty®is seeking experienced, business-focused Client & Policy Servicing Specialists to assist with their Property & Casualty, Errors & Omissions and Healthcare Underwriting teams.

While delivering service excellence, this position will be responsible for processing new and renewal quotes and policies, with high productivity and 100% quality to our agents. The Specialist will also assist Underwriters in achieving service standards through process improvements and team communications.

Education & Experience

  • College degree or high school diploma with prior experience.

Senior Claims Specialist-Casualty & Auto

Middleton, WI or Glastonbury, CT

CapSpecialty® is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Specialist working out of our office in Middleton, WI, or Glastonbury, CT.

This highly motivated individual will investigate, evaluate and resolve casualty claims and auto claims as assigned. This position also requires the management of vendors (potentially to include TPA oversight), management of costs and overall litigation management as well as representing the Company in connection with claim resolution including settlement conferences and mediations. Prompt communication with various internal and external stakeholders and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including fair claims practices is also a responsibility of the Senior Claims Specialist.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge of insurance coverage and policies, insurance law, tort law, and claims handling practices and techniques for casualty and auto lines of business. We are seeking someone with highly refined skills in communicating, negotiating, organizing, analyzing, problem solving, and decision-making. In addition, resiliency, the ability to operate under pressure in high complexity, high risk situations, and the ability to respond rapidly to changing work conditions and expectations is a must. This position requires travel approximately 15% of the time, primarily for mediations.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years claims handling experience, or equivalent. Must possess at least one current adjuster license from a requiring state. Juris Doctorate and/or advanced industry certification(s) (e.g. RPLU, CPCU, AIC) is strongly preferred. Claim handling or litigation experience specifically in casualty and commercial auto desired. Previous experience managing TPAs helpful.

Environmental Underwriter

New York, New York

CapSpecialty® is seeking an experienced, business-focused Environmental Liability Underwriter in their New York City office. With an emphasis on providing quality service to our wholesale production partners, this underwriter will be responsible for new business production and renewal business servicing. Other expectations will be to work in a team environment to achieve premium production goals of the department, build and maintain relationships with our wholesale production partners, and develop marketing and distribution strategies. The Underwriter must be able to interact well with internal resources.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in a technical field - Environmental Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional underwriting experience with strong emphasis in environmental liability: site pollution liability, contractor’s pollution liability, storage tank liability, general liability, and excess liability.
  • Completion or continuing work towards industry certification (RPLU, CIC, CPCU, etc.) preferred.
  • General familiarity with professional liability and knowledge of insurance and underwriting technical basics obtained working within the small business and middle market segments.
  • Basic understanding of financial evaluation tools and rating models.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact well with internal resources at all levels.
  • Ability to develop familiarity with a wide variety of businesses and organizations, the services they provide, as well as the regulatory, legislative, legal and economic factors that affect them.
  • Must be skilled in using personal computers, the internet and multiple software programs.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of casualty underwriting experience preferred.
  • Completion or continuing work towards industry certification (CIC, CPCU, etc.) preferred.
  • General familiarity with products liability, hospitality risks, real estate risks, retail business operations & distributors/wholesalers.
  • Working knowledge of ISO GL rating and general loss rating.
  • Working knowledge of ISO GL policy form and major coverage endorsements and exclusions.
  • Preferred candidate will be knowledgeable with claims made vs. occurrence triggers, Hired/Non-Owned Auto Liability, Liquor Liability and knowledge of the wholesale marketplace.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact well with internal resources at all levels.
  • Ability to develop familiarity with a wide variety of businesses and organizations, the services they provide, as well as the regulatory, legislative, legal and economic factors that affect them.

Litigation Specialist - HealthCare Claims

Professional Risk Management Services, Inc. (PRMS), a CapSpecialty® company, is seeking an experienced Litigation Specialist for our Healthcare Claims team. The location of this position is Arlington, Virginia, although other office locations will be considered.

This highly motivated individual will investigate, evaluate and resolve behavioral health, human services, miscellaneous medical and other healthcare professional liability claims.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge of insurance coverage and policies, insurance law, tort law, and claims handling practices for professional liability, and have highly refined verbal and written communications skills.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree, with 5+ years of claims adjusting experience or equivalent. In addition, a J.D. and/or R.N. strongly preferred. Claims handling or litigation defense experience specifically in medical malpractice desired. We are seeking someone with highly refined skills in communicating, negotiating, organizing, analyzing, problem solving, and decision-making. In addition, resiliency, the ability to operate under pressure in high complexity, high risk situations, and the ability to respond rapidly to changing work conditions and expectations is a must. This position requires travel up to 25% of the time.
